'The Fabric of Austin' Fashion Exhibition
Overview
Grab your fashion friends and come support Austin's growing sustainable fashion community at our big annual event. Free to attend and all ages welcome
“The Fabric of Austin” is an art exhibition produced by Central Texas Fashion Coalition, highlighting the independent and local fashion industry. Through a historical and hyperlocal lens, the exhibition showcases the breadth of Austin’s style — from past influences to the work of today’s designers and stylists. Visitors will see individual displays from local creatives alongside a visual archive of iconic neighborhood archetypes, each representing distinct cultural styles. A printed timeline traces Austin’s fashion culture from its early roots to its future directions. The two-day exhibition opens with an evening reception featuring light bites, drinks, music, and a short talk from local anthropologists and style figures, with participating designers present to share their work.
