Rebirth Brass Band
For nearly four decades, The Rebirth Brass Band has redefined what it means to bring the vibrant spirit of New Orleans music to the world. Founded in 1983 by brothers Phil and Keith Frazier and their friend Kermit Ruffins, the group quickly became a sensation—blending traditional Big Easy brass sounds with modern funk, jazz, soul, and hip-hop influences.
From their humble beginnings performing on the streets of New Orleans to Grammy Award-winning recordings, Rebirth has evolved into a world-renowned musical force. In 2012, they won the Grammy Award for Best Regional Roots Music Album for Rebirth of New Orleans, cementing their legacy as both guardians of tradition and trailblazers of innovation.
Their electrifying blend of second-line rhythms and dynamic brass arrangements connects with audiences of all ages. Whether it’s a Mardi Gras parade, Jazz Fest, or an international stage, Rebirth Brass Band delivers an energy that makes it impossible not to dance.
The Brass Machine
Bringing that same New Orleans heat, The Brass Machine lays down funky street beats with a Western New York twist. Formed in 2014 at the University at Buffalo, the band delivers a high-octane mix of jazz, funk, and R&B in a brass-powered package.
They’ve shared stages with national acts like Earth, Wind & Fire, Starship, The Soul Rebels, Bonerama, John Papa Gros, and CJ Chenier—and were named Best Funk Band in Western New York three years in a row by JazzBuffalo. Led by frontman “Kidd” Kyle Yagielski, The Brass Machine guarantees music that’s good for your soul and your soles.
