San Antonio Water System sees to it that our beautiful, ever-growing city always has safe, reliable, and quality drinking water at every turn of the tap. But what many of us never consider is that SAWS also takes care of all the wastewater from your home. All that smelly muck flows to a water recycling center where it’s thoroughly treated before being released back into the environment.
But don’t just take our word for it. See for yourself during the after-dark tour of the Steven M. Clouse Water Recycling Center from 6:30 p.m. -11 p.m.
This special, spooky, award-winning Halloween edition of our most popular tour is for adults only, 18 years old and up — no exceptions.
Your evening begins with frighteningly flavorful small bites at the Pumpkin Ball from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at SAWS Headquarters. Then promptly at 7:30 p.m. you’ll board a bus (having horror flick flashbacks yet?) to journey to the city’s far South Side to witness things that go bump in the night at SAWS’ largest treatment plant.
Closed-toed, flat shoes are required; you may be asked to wear a safety vest while touring the facility. Keep in mind: You will be riding a bus for a couple of hours so dress comfortably. Please dress in 80's wear - think neon and big hair! No Halloween masks or clothing dragging on the floor allowed.

This tour is free, however we recommend a donation to SAWS Uplift, our affordability program that helps our neighbors struggling to pay their water bills. Donations must be completed online at the link provided - no cash will be accepted.
