About this event

Community • Heritage

Power Point discussions led by Prof. Santi Buscemi based on the following units:

UNIT VII: Writers of Fiction/Poetry—Italian Americans have added to the greatness of American fiction and poetry. Those discussed in this unit include Gregory Corso, John Ciardi, Pietro di Donato, Joseph Barbera, and Mario Puzo

UNIT VIII: Writers of Non-Fiction—The intellectual climate of 20th century America had contributed much to world culture. Mario Pei, Anna Quindlen, Richard Gambino, Gay Talese, Paul Theroux, all of whom are discussed in this unit, all deserved to be recognized as important figures in American non-fiction.

UNIT IX: Journalists— Neil Cavuto, Maria Bartiromo, Gina Kolata, and Robert Santelli are only a few of the many Italian American journalists who have brought honor to our community with their fine work. But we cannot forget a pioneer in American journalism, Generoso Pope, who led the way for our contemporary reporters.
