VOID is a Metro-Detroit born and raised, currently rural Maine based multi-genre musician, producer, and performer, as well as a DJ with a penchant for hypnotic and psychedelic techno, always trying to find that sweet spot between the heavy and ethereal.
Their party GUSH, co-organized by artist Gelsey Amelia, has become a staple in the Portland scene for exploring the harder, and sometimes darker side of dance music. They are also a part of the Real Computer People collective, founded by Rob Schmersal, who releases compilations and puts on shows exploring a variety of electronic music genres, as well as Rave Persons Anonymous, a new Maine-based mix series founded by producer Molkrom.
Drawing heavy inspiration from both the midwest and global underground techno scenes, VOID aims to bring a similar sonic environment which promotes the loss of self and a sense of presence by fully integrating with each other through the beat. They believe in the spiritual side of partying as a sacred expression of collective liberation, and that, rather than escapism, techno can encourage embodiment, community connection, and emotional release.
