Product Management OKRs Workshop 2026

Product Management OKRs Workshop 2026

By Tim Herbig - Product Management Coach & Consultant

Overview

Product Teams should focus on the real-life usefulness of OKRs and integration with existing practices instead of correctness at all costs.

This workshop skips the basics and general advice you can find elsewhere. Instead, it teaches you to create OKRs that guide daily prioritization decisions instead of quarterly reporting exercises that nobody uses.

This workshop can be combined with two consecutive workshops on Product Strategy and Product Discovery taking place over the surrounding two days. Check the ticket options for bundle pricing options.

Most product teams confuse having OKRs with having meaningful goals. They follow rigid frameworks about "outcomes over outputs" and chase the perfect objective statement, but their OKRs become reporting theater that doesn't influence actual work prioritization.

Real Progress with product OKRs happens when your goals help teams measure progress toward strategic priorities and adjust actions accordingly—not just track numbers for stakeholder updates.

Learning Goals

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Create OKRs that sit within your team's sphere of influence rather than chasing metrics you can't actually move
  • Connect Key Results to validated customer problems instead of measuring arbitrary business aspirations
  • Align OKRs with strategic choices so they measure progress on what actually matters for your context
  • Draft and measure useful OKRs for different types of Product Teams: Whether it’s a high-traffic b2c or internal-facing product
  • Design leading indicators that provide feedback quickly enough to guide course corrections
  • Audit existing OKRs using quality checks that reveal whether they drive decisions or just create busywork
