Over the last 15 years, award winning storyteller Adam Wade has been sharing what he knows by teaching others about the art form of storytelling.

The evening will feature a curated lineup of former students from the last 15 years telling personal stories from their lives.

About Adam Wade:

Storyteller Adam Wade is a 20-time Story Slam winner at The Moth, a writer, storytelling instructor, and media producer. He is the creator of the #1 Best Selling Audible Original audio memoir You Ought to Know Adam Wade. This innovative “biopic for your ears” combines his honesty onstage with his intimate reflections in the studio.  

An inimitable fixture in the New York City storytelling and comedy scenes for over twenty years, his monthly storytelling show at Under St. Marks Theatre has been running since 2010 and is a New York Times, CBS News, and Time Out NY Critic’s Pick. He has toured across North America with The Moth Main Stage and his stories have appeared multiple times on The Moth Radio Hour and The Moth Podcast. Adam has also made two appearances on the PBS television show, Stories from the Stage. 

A seasoned teacher of his craft since 2010, Adam has helped over 3,500 students with their own stories in his variety of 6-week Storytelling Classes at NYC's Magnet Theater.  He also conducts one-on-one meet-ups and workshops for businesses, universities, and other organizations including the United Nations, Apple, Pinterest, Humane Society of the United States, American Lung Association, Pen America, Etsy, and the New York Times.

Brian Lorio
Brian C. Lorio is a lecturer in the Department of Speech, Communication, and Theater Arts at Borough of Manhattan Community College, City University of New York. He teaches public speaking as well as various communication studies courses. At BMCC, Brian has taken an active role in his department’s storytelling initiatives and served as curator and host for the college’s storytelling programming at PAC NYC. He was a featured storyteller for the off-Broadway storytelling show, “Love Notes” Brian was proudly raised in Davenport, Iowa. He currently resides in Montclair, New Jersey.

Sophia Wolbrom
Sophia is a Storyteller, Singer, and Producer. Her debut solo show Can’t Find My Way Home premiered this year at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She proudly sits on the Board of Directors for MOVE|NYC & the Young Partner Board at the Public Theater. Her company Know Smoke Events & Consulting specializes in Arts Administration Assistance including Producing & Event Coordination. She is thrilled to celebrate her teacher & mentor Adam Wade!
