14th Annual inspireJAM 2v2 All-Styles Battle

Keeping in context with hip-hop culture, the event features a DJ, emcee, and three judges from different dance styles, who also showcase their own dance expertise, and teach workshops open to our students and the community. The battle ends with open cyphering, a dance circle where all audience members are welcome to dance together. Our judges have come from New York City, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Buffalo, Rochester, and more. This year, special guest judge Ephrat "Bounce" Asherie will be joining as a guest judge.

Event Schedule

• 1:00pm - 2:00pm Workshop with guest judge Ephrat "Bounce" Asherie
• 2:00pm - 3:00pm Battle Registration for competitors
• 3:00pm 2v2 All-Styles Battle begins
• 4:30pm Finals
• 5:30pm Open Cypher (everyone's welcome to dance!)

Battle Details

• All styles welcome: 2v2 format
• 1st Place Prize: $350
• Special Guest Judge: Ephrat "Bounce" Asherie
• Judges & Emcee will be announced soon!

• $10 to battle (includes workshop)
• $5 to observe or take workshop
• Free for UR students with ID

Tickets can be purchased here in advance or with cash at the door (no fees).

Location

The Sloan Performing Arts Center is on the University of Rochester River Campus. Parking is free on campus on weekends. We suggest the Library Lot or the Trustee lot, both short walks from SPAC.
