ABOUT TIM

Tim Grimm is a bit of a Renaissance man in the performing arts world, forging a rich and varied career that blends his love of songwriting, travel, and acting in theatre, film and television. For most of his 25-year career as a storytelling balladeer in the tradition of John Prine, Woody Guthrie, and Bob Dylan, Tim has written primarily about community, history, family, and social issues - often framed by his strong sense of place and the many years he spent on the family farm he built in rural Indiana. His songs are filled with rural characters and landscapes, written and sung with vivid warmth and intimacy.

Tim’s new album, "Bones Of Trees", matches the fire and fury of Folk music traditions as he updates the genre with contemporary political issues and observations. "Bones Of Trees" curates the many moods of Folk music when the album politicizes a story-song tribute to Woody Guthrie in (“Woody’s Landlord Revisited”) while the acoustic picking quiets to hear the tale of Liverpool son Frances Toliver as he enters a World War holiday celebration with “Christmas in the Trenches”. Musicians with guitars can spin a song. A folk musician tells a story that enters our consciousness, an audio worm wriggling to safety as it burrows into our consciousness. Tim Grimm is a champion for the guitar player as three-chord prophet and don’t-shot-the-messenger troubadours.

ABOUT SERGIO

Sergio Webb has been an underrated journeyman musician for hire for years. He has toured the UK accompanying Pinto Bennett, David Olney, Gail Davies and many others and works tirelessly from his Nashville base on call to those singers who possess musical integrity—in short the guy’s something of a ‘maverick’—so don’t expect to see him on stage accompanying the likes of Faith, Taylor or Carrie. BOLIVAR BLUES was recorded in the small, boutique Little Chickadee Studio in Nashville and Sergio—who plays guitar, banjo and ukulele—is accompanied by Welsh-born Rob Price (bass, percussion, harmony vocals), Bruce Baxter (accordion), Teddy Jones (fiddle), David Olney (harmonica), Fran Breen (drums, percussion), Chris Scruggs (steel) and Gail Davies (harmony vocals).
