Courage to Grow: A Book Club for Moms Seeking Something More

Are you longing for something more - something real, deep, and authentic, where you feel truly seen?

We're so glad you're here. This book club is a welcoming space for moms on a journey - of growth, of letting go, of becoming. Whether you're already part of the Acton Omaha community or you're simply a kindred spirit seeking depth, reflection, and connection, you belong here.

Over three evenings, we’ll walk through Courage to Grow by Laura Sandefer - the powerful story behind Acton Academy - and weave in our own stories too. Together, we’ll slow down, share honestly, and reflect on what it means to lead with courage, raise empowered children, and live with greater clarity and joy.

Each gathering will include:

  • Thought-provoking conversation around key chapters
  • Gentle, creative reflection (no artistic skill required!)
  • A glimpse into the heart of Acton’s learner-driven model
  • A warm space to connect with other growth-minded moms
  • Light snacks and simple creative moments to feed both body and soul

✨ You don’t need to have read the whole book to join. You just need an open heart.

Where is Acton Academy Omaha located?

Acton Academy Omaha is located in the lower level of St. Paul's Lutheran Church off of Millard Ave. We will have greeters at the entrance doors labeled "Door C" (nearest Millard Ave. on the front side) to welcome you and walk you to our studio where the book club will be held.

Will there be supplies I need to bring?

Bring your open heart and willingness to share, learn and grow! Also bring a pen, paper and your Courage to Grow book. Feel free to bring any notes you have to discuss the chapters for each weekly discussion.

Will there be food or drinks served?

We will have light refreshments and appetizers to share. If you want something specific, feel free to bring it with you for the conversation.

What is parking like?

You may park alongside the building in front of the "Door C" entrance, or in the church parking lot across the street.
