🔬 We are now hosting Science Café in Elk Grove! ☕ Science Cafés are monthly conversations that make science accessible for all.

🎙 This month's topic is Salmon in the Central Valley: Paths for Restoration and Resurgence

Join ecologist Theo Claire for a presentation on the relationship between habitat loss & salmon extinction, the connection between salmon extinction & settler colonialism, and salmon restoration as a path towards environmental justice. Enjoy a FREE food or drink item courtesy of California Association of Science Educators.

About our speaker: Theo Claire is an ecologist who specializes in river restoration and anadromous fish passage. Theo was born and raised in Sacramento, and a deep love of the Central Valley's species and landscapes informs their work. Theo currently works as an environmental scientist for the Department of Water Resources on the reintroduction of Chinook Salmon above Shasta Dam.
