Ribbe, or juleribbe is one of the most iconic dishes in the traditional Norwegian kitchen. Made from pork belly, the goal is the juiciest meat with the crispiest crackling. But if you are a true ribbe fan, you will want to try these Lingonberry Rum Glazed Ribbe featuring the distinct Nordic ingredient lingonberry combined with rum, chili sauce, worcestershire and soy sauce!

Join us at Norway House for an afternoon of hands-on ribbe baking with Teena Anderson, owner of Anoka Meat and Sausage and a regular guest on Twin Cities Live and Fox 9 Good Day.

In this interactive class, you’ll make your own lingonberry sauce while sipping an optional beverage available for purchase from our Kaffebar.

Teena will expertly walk you through the steps of how to select a good slice of pork belly and how to prepare it. In this class, the meat will be partially cooked before class, then finished as you cook together. But Teena will make sure you understand each step so you can successfully make this dish at home.

Designed as a small-group cook-along, this class fosters community, connection, and conversation around food traditions. And in the spirit of sharing, the whole family is invited to join this collaborative cooking experience!

Please note: Norway House does not issue refunds. Please be sure you can attend on the day for which you registered. If you can't attend, you are welcome to give your seat in class to another person.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an age limit?

You are the best judge of your child's ability to handle a cooking class. There must be one adult for each child attending. Children pay the same ticket price as adults.

Will alcohol be served?

There is a cafe in Norway House. You can purchase beer, wine, or hard cider and bring it into class. Soft drinks are also available.

What is a lingonberry?

Lingonberries are cranberries milder cousin. They primarily grow in the far North and have just enough tartness to make a great accompaniment to a pork dish.
