Project Summary
The Performing Arts Center for African Cultures will use African Dance, Drumming, and Storytelling to engage the communities of African and Hispanic heritage to experience and participate in storytelling sessions through the lens of Sandra Cisneros’s novel The House on Mango Street.

- Poetry & Spoken Word – Celebrating personal voices and community narratives.

Theme Statement
“We Are All in the Same Soup”
Derived from a Ghanaian proverb, our theme is a vibrant metaphor: like soup, our stories, cultures, and experiences blend together-strengthening and nourishing each other. (More on Ghanaian soup traditions coming soon!)
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
• Adults 18 and up
• No need to read the full book-each short story offers its own spark for memory, conversation, and creativity.
