Overview

Just self defence is for anyone who wants to improve their personal safety, gain more confidence and learn the bits you need to know.

What to Expect From This Course


In Two Words: Serious Fun.


Learning something new should be enjoyable, engaging and genuinely useful and that’s exactly what this course is about.


Self-defence is a serious subject. It deals with real violence, real fear and real threats, including situations where your life may be at risk. This course prepares you for the reality of those moments.


If you’re looking to sit in a classroom, environment memorise statistics, practise a few locks, holds and wrist escapes with your colleagues, then sorry this course isn’t for you.


I’m here to make sure you are safer, more confident and genuinely prepared,

if a situation ever arises.


Real-World Training:

We train the way real life works.

No uniforms, you’ll be training in old clothes you don’t mind getting damaged.

Footwear? Trainers. (Not barefoot.)

If you normally wear high heels and have an old pair, bring them too.


Course Structure:

1 hour per week for 10 weeks just 10 hours of training that will genuinely surprise you with how much you’ll learn.

The Law on Self-Defence

Not only what the law allows but what to expect afterwards: what to do, what to say, and how to ensure you protect yourself legally as well as physically.


The Four Phases of Just Self Defence

Awareness • Your guard • De-escalation • Your defence

How to Use the Ability You Already Have

No, you’re not training to become Rocky, you’re learning how to use the body and fitness level you have right now.


Your Self-Defence Toolbox

Hands, feet, knees, elbows and more and how to use them effectively.

Beyond formal qualifications, Chris brings real-life experience gained from 12 years running public houses in Leeds from the early 1980s to the mid-1990s — an environment where real altercations were a weekly reality. Combined with personal experience of traumatic events, Chris teaches self-defence from a place of genuine understanding, not theory.


This is practical, tested, no-nonsense self-defence training delivered by someone who has lived it.
