Monticello

For events and things to do in Monticello, MS, the calendar is deeply rooted in community traditions and annual celebrations. The local social life revolves around organized, family-oriented gatherings that bring residents together in the town's public spaces. This rhythm is defined by long-standing festivals and seasonal markets rather than a bustling daily nightlife scene.

• Downtown Monticello serves as the central hub for seasonal events, hosting the annual Monticello Marketplace, holiday parades, and a bi-annual flea market.
• Just across the Pearl River, Atwood Water Park is the setting for Mississippi's longest-running music festival, the annual Atwood Music Festival.
• The Lawrence County Civic Center hosts various community functions, while local parks are the backdrop for summer's Music on the Mississippi and Movies in the Park series.
