Sunderland

While Sunderland itself offers a quiet, rural pace, there is a wide variety of events and things to do just a short drive away throughout Sunderland, MA and the Pioneer Valley. The area's rhythm is heavily influenced by the Five Colleges academic calendar, creating a lively social and cultural scene. This energy is most palpable in the bustling downtowns of Northampton and Amherst, which stand in contrast to the region's agricultural landscapes.

• Start an outing in downtown Northampton, known for its bohemian arts scene, by exploring independent shops before catching a show at The Academy of Music Theatre or The Iron Horse Music Hall.
• Experience the youthful energy of Amherst, a classic college town, with events ranging from live jazz at The Drake to independent films at the Amherst Cinema.
• Find a comedy show for a night out, with options like improv at Happier Valley Comedy in Hadley or touring stand-up comedians at ROAR! Comedy Club in Springfield.
