Turner’s objective is to increase visibility, improve economic viability and expand opportunities for minority and women-owned business enterprises (M/WBEs). Turner’s track record is long and positive in the utilization of small, minority, and women business enterprises. Turner Construction Company awarded 3,639 contracts totaling $1.2 billion to MWBE’s during 2011. This is the seventh year in a row that the company has surpassed the milestone of awarding in excess of $1 billion of contracts to MWBE firms nationally, and we are poised to continue this same approach in 2012. Since 1979, Turner’s total number of contracts with MWBEs has surpassed 60,000 at a value in excess of $20.5 billion. Locally we have awarded $165 million in contracts to MWBE businesses in the past five years.
