YPE Startup Series Panel - A Look at the Evolving Resource Landscape for Energy Startups

NEW! Our first YPE Startup Series event: This series of events and content will focus on generating discussion around issues related to energy in the context of startup ecosystem and aims to bring together and empower energy entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, and investors in this space.

The steep decline of venture capital investment in the energy and sustainable tech area in recent years greatly diminished the opportunty for entrepreneurs to look to the venture community when launching an energy technology startup and left few options. The failure of energy/cleantech startups as a group, in providing favorable returns highlighted the idea that there was reboot needed in how we thought about venture investment in eneryg tech and that perhaps the venture model was not the best, or only, method to support cleantech entrepreneurs.

Flash forward to today, where we continue to face the need for transformative technologies across the energy and industrial value chain to reduce the global carbon footprint. So the question remains: how are we supporting the development of these next generation sustainable solutions, especially in the startup community - how have the startup and energy communities come together to address these gaps?

This panel aims to shed light on specific ways in which the startup support ecosystem has evolved in the past 5+ years to meet the challenge in better equipping entrpreneurs who are developing next generation energy technologies. Our moderator and panelists bring a wealth of expertise and diverse perspectives on this topic!
