The panel discussion will be moderated by Professor Barbara Kates-Garnick, of the Fletcher School & Center for International Environment and Resource Policy, and the panelists include:

Maryrose Sylvester is President and CEO of Current, powered by GE

Maryrose is President and CEO of Current, powered by GE—a first-of-its kind energy company that integrates GE’s LED, Solar, Energy Storage and Electric Vehicle businesses with its industrial strength Predix platform to deliver cost effective, efficient energy solutions. Prior to her role at Current, Maryrose served as President and CEO of GE Lighting where she led more than 12,000 employees from one of GE’s most iconic businesses in an exciting global transformation as world markets shifted toward energy-efficient lighting solutions. Before joining Lighting, Maryrose was President and CEO of GE Intelligent Platforms. Maryrose is a member of GE's Corporate Executive Council, GE’s Commercial Council, and she was instrumental in helping to launch the GE Women’s Network. She is Vice Chair of the Board of Governors for the National Electrical Manufacturers Association.

Cynthia A. Arcate, President and CEO of PowerOptions

A respected energy expert with more than 25 years of experience in government and the private sector, Cynthia has an extensive background in utility regulation and operations as well energy policy. Cynthia began her leadership at PowerOptions in 2009, as President and CEO. She articulates the strategic vision of PowerOptions, managing a highly-skilled staff who implement its annual $160- 200 million electricity and natural gas programs. Cynthia previously served as Deputy Commissioner for Programs at the Massachusetts Division of Energy Resources (DOER), where she had the overall responsibility for many programs of the agency. She also held a variety of legal and senior management positions at National Grid and was director of business development in New York and New England for Comverge, Inc., a clean energy provider that specializes in demand response and energy efficiency. Cynthia is also an award winner of the New England Women in Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE).

Cheryl A. Warren, National Grid USA Board Director and Innovation Strategist

In September 2015, Cheri joined the board of National Grid USA and became the Innovation Strategist reporting to the US CEO. She has also served as Senior Vice President, Network Strategy at National Grid. She has over 28 years of experience in multiple electric and gas utility business functions including leadership, people growth, appreciative inquiry, management, electric reliability assessment with a focus on fact-based decision making, among many others. She has previously worked at GE, Central Hudson Gas and Electric, Power Technologies, Inc., Navigant Consulting and National Grid. As a strong advocate of Woman in Industry, Cheri has sat on the Leadership Advisory Committee of the IEEE, PES Women in Power.

NEWIEE Moderator:

Barbara Kates-Garnick, Professor of Practice at the Fletcher School and Senior Research Fellow in the Center for International Environment and Resource Policy

Barbara is a leader in the energy and environmental fields in a broad career that has spanned the private and public sectors. Currently Barbara is a professor of practice at the Fletcher School of Tufts University and senior research fellow at the school’s Center for International Environment and Resources Policy (CIERP). Barbara recently served as Undersecretary of Energy for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where she co-chaired the Global Warming Solutions Act (GWSA) and Electric Vehicle Task Forces, and had oversight over the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center. Her prior work in public service includes Commissioner of Public Utilities and Assistant Secretary of Consumer Affairs. She served as Vice President of Corporate Affairs at KeySpan and as a consultant to NYU-Poly. The Office of the U.S. Secretary of Energy has appointed Barbara to serve as an ambassador to 3CE, a global initiative that promotes women in clean energy. She is also an award winner of the New England Women in Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE).

What is the refund policy?

Please note that we will be unable to give refunds for tickets after 5 PM on July 5th. To request a refund, please contact Mary Ellen Paravalos at Mary.Ellen.Paravalos@nationalgrid.com.

May I pay for my Ticket by Check?

Sure! Please make your check out to "NEWIEE". Include a cover letter for how many tickets you would like to purchase and the name, title, company, and email address(es) of the person/people using the tickets. Mail to P.O. Box 381154,Cambridge, MA 02238-1154. Once your payment is received, we will enter the names and ticket quantities for your purchase into Eventbrite and send you an email confirmation. Please allow 10 days for processing. NOTE: If you are purchasing a ticket by check within two weeks of the panel, please send your name, title, company name, email address and number of tickets to Mary Ellen Paravalos at Mary.Ellen.Paravalos@nationalgrid.com.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Tickets may not be available at the door as we expect to sell out and have to give a food head count several days in advance. If you are unsure, please email (add appropriate contact) to see if tickets are still available.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes, your registration/ticket is transferrable, but please contact us ahead of time so that we will have the appropriate name tag waiting for the attendee who is using the ticket.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, you are not required to bring your ticket with you.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

It is fine if you are coming in place of someone and your name does not match the original attendee who purchased the ticket. But please let us know as soon as you can about this switch so that we may have the proper name tag waiting for you at the event.

What is the attire?
