The Rotary Club of Kern River Valley will host their 17th Annual Car Show “Down by the River Side” and Pet Parade from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Riverside Park in Kernville. There is no charge for spectators to come over and see some very stunning cars and have a great time. During the car show, Rotary KRV President Charlie Busch will provide 50s & 60s music between announcements.

Across Kernville Rd, from the car show, is the start of the one mile long, Sirretta Street Yard Sale, in its 34th year, which starts at 8:00 am. Many treasures have been found at Kernville’s largest yard sale.

The popular Rotary KRV Pet Parade will take place at noon Saturday, May 7th. Free Registration for the Rotary Pet Parade takes place starting at 11am. The Pet Parade is organized by the FYDO the FIX YOUR DOG ORG working with Friends of the Kern County Shelters Foundation. Prizes and ribbons will be awarded in the following categories: Cutest Pet, Best Trick, Largest/Smallest Pet, Friendliest Pet, Funniest Pet, Best Dressed Pet, Most Unusual Pet, Pet/Owner Look-Alike & Best Overall Pet. Each pet can compete in one category only. Your cat, dog, or large pet must be leashed. All other pets must be caged. Be prepared to clean up after your pet.
