A first-ever statewide conference, the “New York State School Environmental Health Summit: Is Your School Clean, Green, and Healthy?” is scheduled to be held on October 13, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Saratoga Springs City Center in Saratoga Springs, New York.

The purpose of this FREE, day-long conference is to promote school environmental health and to generate awareness and support for the newly developed NYS Clean, Green, and Healthy Schools program. The New York State Department of Health, advised by other state agencies and non-governmental organization partners has been working to develop this program for K-12 schools. The mission of the new program is that every child and school employee has the right to a safe and healthy learning and working environment that is clean and in good repair. The program is designed to provide information on policies, best practices, tools, knowledge, and resources regarding school environmental health.

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and deepen their understanding of the importance of indoor air quality, integrated pest management, asthma management, and national programs to promote environmental health in schools. The keynote address will be given by Ms. Judith Enck, Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency - Region 2.

The conference is FREE to all attendees. Please arrive early to sign in and enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast. Lunch will be provided at no cost to attendees.
