The UC Davis Office of Research invites you to a special event on campus Thursday, October 20th to learn about research, education and training opportunities at the McClellan Nuclear Research Center (MNRC).

During the event, you will hear about the center’s capabilities and programs; meet the leadership, faculty and staff; and watch a live virtual tour of the reactor. Cam Carter, interim vice chancellor for research, will give brief remarks.

MNRC, located in Sacramento, offers unique research capabilities and world-class neutron radiography services that are especially well suited for applications in material science, electrical engineering, plant science, geology, chemistry and physics. MNRC is also planning to offer a unique hands-on training program for UC Davis students to receive a federal license to operate the 2.0 Megawatt reactor.

Faculty, researchers, student, staff and administrators are welcome to attend.

Nearest Parking Lot to 1147 Mathematical Sciences Building

Visitor Parking lot 47 is about a 400-yard walk to 1147 Mathematical Sciences Building. Purchase your visitor parking permit from one of the dispensing machines scattered throughout the lot. Park in any parking space except those marked with special restrictions. Parking in the northeast quadrant of this lot will put you closer to Mathematical Sciences Building.

Directions to Visitor Parking Lot 47 from I-80

From take the UC Davis exit and turn north onto Old Davis Rd.
Go about 0.5 miles to the traffic circle.
Take the circle to the LaRue Rd exit.
Go about 500 feet to the stop sign.
Turn left to stay on LaRue Rd.
Go about .2 mile.
The parking lot entrance will be on your right.
