About this event

Since 2016, the MacArthur Foundation has supported Philadelphia's efforts to reduce Philadelphia’s jail population and reduce racial, ethnic, and economic disparities in the criminal justice system.

The Philadelphia Macarthur Safety and Justice Challenge invites Reentry Coalition members to a roundtable discussion to learn about and inform a new grant proposal that will shape the next chapter of their criminal justice reform efforts. This will help the Philly Macarthur team learn if the new grant proposal is incorporating the concerns of the community, as well as allow community members to become a part of the process by engaging with the grant. Community members will hear about the specific strategies, initiatives, and projects associated with the grant, and will also have the opportunity to add and/or highlight concerns. With the support of their Community Advisory Committee, it is their intent to create meaningful dialogue with several different community groups around the city of Philadelphia.

With a deeper focus in this grant proposal on Racial and Ethnic Disparities and Community Engagement, incorporating your voices and the voices of other community groups will be necessary in order to create a strong proposal.
