CNET, the BBC, Mashable, and Engadget are just a few of the sources citing 2016 as the breakout year for virtual reality (VR). VR is no longer an expensive, fringe format but rather a practical communications asset that marketing and PR professionals need to fully explore. But how? As marketing and PR professionals we have yet to see a guide illustrating how to get started with virtual reality. This panel’s goal is to fix that – to help marketing and PR professionals to get started by discussing the basic requirements for a VR starter kit, best practices, lessons from the early days of VR, future predictions, as well as the most creative ways to utilize the VR format for integrated marketing and PR.

In the first hour, an exciting panel discussion will highlight topics including:

  • The basic requirements for a VR starter kit
  • Best practices
  • Lessons from brands who are using it
  • Predictions for future development

Of course, seeing is believing. The VR Mini Lab hosted by UploadVR will enable PR and marketing pros the opportunity to explore and interact with the latest VR headsets - such as the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift DK2, Samsung Gear and Google Cardboard - as well as experiment with commercially available 360° cameras. Greg Gopman of UploadVR will lead a team of virtual reality developers to offer hands-on demonstrations and displays before and after the panel discussion.
