About the seminar:

Xenotransplantation, the transplantation of organs, tissues and cells between species, has the potential to solve the critical shortage of human donor organs. While there has been some progress made towards clinical xenotransplantation, significant immunological barriers remain to be addressed. Synthetic Genomics and United Therapeutics have joined together to address the challenges of xenotransplantation and improve the ability of pigs to serve as potential organ donors.
