I adopted a cute kitten named Dottie from them. They were very descriptive on how to take care of her since she just got fixed. They provided all of her medications at no extra cost. The only thing I did not like about this facility was that the staff was lacking. We had a hard time finding anyone to help us start our adoption process. I'm also disappointed that if you wanted to adopt a kitten you have no other choice but to go on a live stream that happens on the local news station.
They took good care of spaying a cat for me in the past. On a separate visit to consider a cat for adoption, I felt that the volunteers were trying to be helpful but were very interruptive in the process of getting to meet the cat. Even after nicely describing to them what process I was using to interact with the cat the volunteer would not listen. Ohh well. I can't pay attention to a cat that has 3 volunteers petting him.
Very, very friendly staff, some more informed than the others. The conditions seemed below-standard. The dogs didnt seem to get out much and most of them had feces in their cage areas with them. This location only had 2 puppies available for adoption, a few fully grown small dogs and the rest were large breeds.
My 7 year old Chihuahua rescue and I were looking for a new family member. We didn't actually need one but could offer a great home to another rescue. Our adoption counselor, as well as all other staff, were fantastic. The process was smooth and relatively quick. We were given enough time with the new dog to determine if he would be a good fit for our family. Gideon, formerly Godzilla, is a sweet and loving little dog who we love dearly. This is a wonderful no-kill shelter.
2 years ago I got my baby from the Humane Society shelter for 9 dollars. Thank you so much! "Stu" was his first name and now he's a cute and lovely cat named Trinket. I highly recommend this shelter. You will save a life and you will also get an adorable companion. I treat Trinket like my child. Thanks again!
