Intimate theater on the third floor. Ok seats. All slightly run down but rather professional.

First time watching a play reading, exceeding my expectations. Impressed by #1 and #2 actresses. The chairs are not comfortable.

Wow. Simply. Wow. The show I saw ("Afterglow") was also 5 stars. But this review is for the theater itself. I was running late due to police barricades not mentioned on any map app, and even though I called and though I'd make it, I ended up getting there after the show started. They were kind enough to let me change my ticket to the next showing even though it was a discounted ticket. The box office people were amazing. True customer service at its finest especially in New York where that was a commodity. Many theaters where I'm from (Albuquerque) could learn from this place.

The theater is vintage; just what local experienced theater goers and devotees of off-b'way will enjoy. This said, the intended sharp-edged sexual tension of "Afterglow" turns instantaneously blunt and hollow. The sex is blah, the dialogue is blah, the histrionics are blah. If the play is not an outright cliche of the gay world, it is merely thin and prescriptive. Almost nothing really works here, including a shower that drips, drips, drips after the faucet is closed.
