Fun date night in Mt Vernon. Class is busy, ours had 18 people, and it's a tight space. The number of people also means everyone swaps stations, so if you want to do something specific and it's not your station - you need to be vocal and ask for it!

On their website they describe their "Technique Courses" as being in-depth but our experience was anything but. I brought two friends to learn about dumplings and up our cooking game but instead the "class" was told to just go to different stations and with very few instructions start cooking. The tasks we were able to do included chopping parsley (where it went when we were done I have no idea), folding 1 of the 4 dumplings on offer and manning the frying tray. I was really excited to come away knowing more about dumplings but sadly I can't even say what the ingredients were in most of what we ended up eating. Several couples looked like they were having fun socializing over the tasks they were doing but I was really looking for a learning experience. If I'm going to pay 50 dollars for food made by amateurs I want to feel like I really got something out of it and it was my amateurish food.

The cooking classes are fun and informative and take place in an adorable room, and are taught by two instructors who are very kind and enthusiastic about food, cooking, and baking. I've learned a lot about food there and will keep attending myself.

My wife and I attended Schola's Summer Produce II Date Night and had a great time. The food was fantastic and the chef was personable and shared various cooking techniques.
