I have to begin by saying I'm not much of a fan of most "contemporary art". For me, art must inspire some sort of upliftment within me, otherwise, as Picasso did, you may as well just have a monkey paint it. This museum showcased a lot of Andy Warhol art, which I found to be rather uninteresting. There was a wonderful room of silver working that I found to be very beautiful, as well as some wonderful oil paintings, my favorite being a wonderful examination of light dancing on the waves of the sea.
I just got home from an awesome tour of the Warhol Exhibit, with the awesome docent Marilyn. I went with a group of friends and thanks to Marilyn we ended up with a much greater knowledge of Warhol and an admiration we hadn't had before. We talked to a group of friends who had been on the tour with a different docent and we were all amazed at how much we knew about him and how little the other group had learned. In fact, they were very disappointed in their tour, while we were all extremely pleased with ours. Thank you Marilyn for a wonderful tour and experience.
Beautiful. My boyfriend and I are art fans and were very pleased with the whole atmosphere. I wish, however that the entrance was more visible and parking can be a little tight. There was enough seating and the staff was very helpful. A little on the pricey side, but it was well worth it, knowing just how big the property is and all of the art inside. We enjoyed ourselves and looking forward to coming back in the future. :)
My husband and I got married in the Sunken ballroom in January 2016. The Event team was incredibly helpful and very accommodating. Jeff is fabulous at his job and covers all the bases and then some for planning your wedding. Greg and the tech crew answered even the most detailed question and put us at ease. The day of everything went flawlessly and the museum looked amazing. I highly suggest renting out the museum for a unique experience for your wedding guests.
