MGM has great restaurants and they have been upgrading rooms but they need to work faster. Also, I recently stayed here and was surprised at the number of working girls down in the elevator lobby. Didn't feel very safe. And all the smoke throughout the building gets rough. They offer a stay well floor which is supposed to have higher oxygen levels and hypoallergenic. Inquire if this would benefit you.
A nice casino in Vegas to visit. Great shows available to see, good food and all the gaming and slots you could want. But be ready to pay for the privilege! The rooms are nice but it costs a premium to stay in the newer wings. Comp drinks and meals are not there unless your really dropping significant bets down. Sitting at the bar and playing video poker I payed $8.00 per beer while gambling and during the almost 3 hours of play I got 1 free beer. The buffet was 30+ bucks a head but had great food and they had a good court that offered 8 dollar slices of pizza or burgers.....I guess I remember the days when the casinos were happy with taking your money away at the slots and tables but offered cheap drinks and food as a conciliation. No more!
I really love the MGM but wish it was less expensive. It is a great place to go on business when someone else is paying the bulk of the tab. If I go on my own and am paying the bills, I'll always opt for Fremont Street. More social atmosphere and significantly cheaper. Of course, there are less shows and the hotels are older
