Can someone direct me to getting a patient advocate. I was in the hospital for 3 days in July. Got a bill from the physician and called insurance company and they stated they were not paying the bill because that doctor was not in my network. I was at my networks hospital, you can't pick and choose doctors in the hospital by asking if they are in our network. My doctor told me her never heard a thing like that and get an advocate from Mercy. My stay was excellent and staff was great but we took care of our deductible and deserve not to have $600 in a bill when I was in my network hospital.
I normally don't have a problem with this hospital, however, today I about lost it on the registration and outpatient lab. I have Lupus and have been going there every 3 months for lab work for the past 5 years. Today, I go to get my labs and the lady in registration was rude and treated me like i am stupid. She refused to register me since I didn't have a 24 hour urine completed and I didn't fast. Last time I checked, my doctors order trumps what the registration person says. I took my lab into the outpatient lab to get the container I needed. I was standing there with 3 people looking at me. It took about 2 minutes for one person to say anything to me and when they finally did, the lady in charge of the lab tried to tell me that her computer system wouldn't allow her to complete the test non-fasting. I don't understand how I have completed these tests 20 times in the past and only today I can't get them done. This is not my first rodeo. I will be going to Aultman from now on.
Been attending PT at the Jackson facility and can not say enough about Brian, Dave and Danielle. They are the best and i appreciate all that they did for me. My experience was better than i could have ever imagined and i know going forward that I will return to PT at the Jackson facility if i ever need it in the future.
I saw the nurse practitioner. She is very nice and helpful, knowledgeable, and quick to respond. The nurse wasn't friendly but I chalk it up to the day.The receptionist is one of the worst I have ever dealt with on the phone or in person. She asked me to look up a fax number for Mercy services when I know she has it available to her.
