This location generally has way more options than many others. Probably because of its size. The foreign aisle could use some rearrangement. And the cashiers could use refreshers on providing adequate customer service. Otherwise it's perfect for doing your grocery shopping during your lunch break.

I mainly go for the ready to eat food. Awesome salad bar, hot food, deli. Can't go wrong.

This store is not like the others; it’s dirty and disorganized. I will never eat any prepared food here after what happened today. I came in at 2:30 PM to do a product demo and went to buy some soup on the hot bar. The soup was crusty, thick, old looking so I took a pass. At 5:30 PM, I happen to pass by there and it was still the same, maybe worse. I thought this was disgusting so I told customer service that no one had wiped/temped/swapped out the soup since 2:30 and it was already old at that point. Customer service paged the department a few times but nothing happened. When I left at 6:30 PM, they had dumped new soup into a few of the almost empty soup containers and didn’t swap them out. The remainder of the soups were as they were for the entire day. Nothing was wiped down. When I left at 6:30 PM, they had dumped new soup into a few of the almost empty soup containers and didn’t swap them out for clean containers. The remainder of the soups were as they were for the entire day. Customer service did tell a shift manager but no one had any sense of urgency about this. I’m sure the health department would be interested.

So I heard that the burger grill at Marino’s was really good and wanted to go try it out. There was a guy working the grill, Efrain, who was very rude. Not only did he throw my bread in disgust but he also did not apologize after I asked him why he was treating my food like that. Extremely rude and told me to go because he was too busy doing nothing and couldn’t speak to me since he knew he was wrong. So I talked to the manager and he didn’t seem to care much about it considering he was talking like it was no big deal since it seems to be normal for their workers to treat customers like that. If he was able to do that in front of everyone watching I’m curious to what they do in the back with the food people eat. All I can say is thank God that fool works flipping burgers because God knows what he would do if he had a job with a higher position. I have no idea what kind of workers the owners are hiring nowadays but that was not okay at all. So unless you like being talked to with attitude and having your food mistreated, I wouldn’t recommend going there.

Is a regular Mariano's but can get very busy being in Greek town. However they have a wonderful selection and a great staff as well. South loop might be more convenient and less busy but this has a better selection
