My kids have severe food allergies. The food prep chef at the butcher shop took extra care to clean both the grill and utensils in order prepare a steak. Awesome attention to detail.

Nice store, but the customer service is horrible. They changed the loyalty program card, but neglected to inform me until after processing my order. Completely understand a change in programs, but they mishandled rolling out this one, resulting in me paying $20 more because none of the sale items I purchased were considered in sale - strike one. The last few times I've been there, only 2-3 of the possible 18 checkout lanes were open. People are literally lined up down the food aisles to checkout, and has taken me 15min+ to checkout - strike two. Despite the ridiculous lines due to short staffing, there are managers and other store workers standing around doing nothing. Zero response to the situation. Even worse, they still think it's important to have a pianist playing. Seriously? If it's really due to budget constraints, can the pianist and hire another clerk - stike three. It seems to all stem from poor management. Guess they failed Business 101... I'll be voting with my wallet and shopping elsewhere from now on, and would encourage others to do the same. It's a shame, because it was a great store.

I still believe it's a great establishment, but the service has really taken a turn for the worst. First thing there was no tissue in the bathroom. They had 4 different types of chicken in the self service area and I was passed off twice before a woman in the deli could decipher between them ( I wish I got her name she was a sweetheart). When I was checking out the girl rang up and just stood there, I figured she would tell me the price and then when it was okay to slide my card ( I guess I should learn to read minds). I believe in what this store stands for and hope the customer service doesn't bring it down.....

New review from June-2017 (1 star): In 3 straight visits, all on different days of the week, the lines on each register have been roughly 7 carts long and they don't open more registers to handle the increase. I spoke with the Manager on my most recent visit and he stated clearly that is is now to be expected for the store as Kroger bought them out in 2015 and has cut back the hours and the budget a few times in the last year with the latest one being very drastic. There are other options in the area, I would suggest Trader Joe's or even Jewel. Both are better quality at this point and have reasonable waits to check out. My review from Early-2016 (4-stars): Everything is great here, but I lowered from 5 stars to 4 because the sushi is $8 a roll now, including for avocado rolls. I can get better sushi at Kai Sushi or South Coast for less than $5 a roll.

This Mariano's is smaller than average but always well-stocked. The pizza section in the hot food area is better than any other Mariano's I've visited. The meat department consistently produces quality burger patties and sausages. There is a very large amount of parking, with both a ground lot and two levels of garage above the store. Overall, I highly recommend this location.
