Well kept zoo with very pretty grounds. Nice place for a good walk. All the animals appeared to be well taken care of with appropriate enclosures and number of animals in the enclosures for socialization. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, but the gift shop for such a large zoo was lacking heavily.

Enjoyed our full day exploring the wonders of the LA Zoo. Such a variety of animals to see. I can't help but feel a bit bad though that the animals seem to not have a whole bunch of room. Decently clean park for fun of all ages, although we didn't want to eat anything in the park because the food service booths just didn't look sanitary although I'm sure they are.

I love the L.A. zoo, it's a dear place to our family. Animals come first and are treated well. The zoo is primarily focused on the well being of its residents, and visitors then get worked in to the equation. And they do a fabulous job of making your visit memorable. Feeding time is always a joy, and any time the keepers interact with the animals. Giant, ferocious beasts become tame house pets when they are around. There is a loving connection that you can see and it's magical. So why 4 stars? Everything is so expensive. But this is my review and that's one thing that's important to me.

Zoo lights for the holidays! The Zoo lights event, held each year between November and January, are a perfect family event. Beautiful holiday lights, music, and nothing but happy people of all ages. We use a wheelchair for Mom, and the staff is very helpful with that, too. Go, it is wonderful! And during the day, the LA Zoo is great. Lots of enrichment for the animals, nice natural looking spaces, and a very nice botanical garden as well. Very well priced for family fun, I'd advise a weekday morning trip, as our zoo is very popular with local families, who tend to go on weekends.

I have been a member of the LA Zoo for a few years now. Love bringing in lunch and eating over by the monkey exhibit, sometimes they put on a pretty good show! :) Just visited the "new" sea otter exhibit for the first time the other day and I could have stayed their watching them ALL DAY LONG!!! Sooooo insanely cute! The zoo has a wide variety of animals, is clean and the grounds are really nice. It's definitely not the San Diego Zoo, but I would recommend going if you're in the area!
