Fantastic atmosphere and super helpful staff. Every conceivable game can be had - so many great options up on the walls. It was my first time here and it was a bit overwhelming, but the staff quickly pointed me in the right direction and we ended up with our new favorite game! Social game nights are held every Thursday at the store and lots of games are available to try before you buy, which is great. Between the fabulous and knowledgeable staff, friendly atmosphere, superb selection (they have a great section for little kids) and social events, this is my new favorite store and I will be back as frequently as my bank account allows!
Words cannot describe how marvelous this place is. I've been living in DC for about seven and a half months now, and this place still never gets old. They have almost every board game you can think of, and if they don't they can order it for you for 20% off. It's absolutely amazing. I have ordered multiple things from them because it's even cheaper than Amazon sometimes. Not only that, but with the new expansion tot heir store, they're much more open and spacious. No more cramped hallways! The staff is almost always friendly and ready for any discussion concerning games. You can tell that Labyrinth hire people who know their stuff. Their employees have tried out almost every game in the store. Not only that, but they try to make an effort to get to know you. They also have a lot of cool things like Christmas wrapping for presents and game nights. They also have a cool "try-before-you-buy" section in the back where you can play multiple board games before you buy them. If you're looking for the TCG front, don't expect individual cards. They only sell in packs.
Love the monthly gaming events they organize for kids at the store, from ages 3 to teens. My boys love Magic the Gathering night. The patient staff teach the kids to play, and parents can actually leave for a coffee around the corner, or hang out in the gaming area of the shop. Not just a store - a social hub for anyone who likes casual games.
I've been in the area, and regularly go to Labyrinth, for one and a half years. It's a great little game store. Nice faculty with an excellent selection of board, card, novelty, and childrens' games. The price is a bit steep compared to market value online, which is usual with game stores . They offer tons of community events throughout the week. It's a small space that is very packed, but they recently expanded and probably is more spacious now. The groups at the casual game group have an established clique, which might be very warding for some individuals. Take a friend to one of their activities, and have a blast!
