Eventbrite needs your "eblink{Taxpayer Information=>https://www.eventbrite.com/tax_information}" to confirm that you're a non-U.S. citizen exempt from the IRS reporting requirements. The information we collect is found on your eblink{Form W-8=>https://www.irs.gov/uac/about-form-w8} (e.g., W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E, other). You can enter it as early as you’d like. As a reminder to enter your information, we’ll notify you when you reach the following order thresholds :
• 100 orders: We'll send an email to the primary account holder's email address.
• 125 orders: We'll display a banner requesting taxpayer information on the Manage Events Manage Events page when eblink{logged in=>https://www.eventbrite.com/login} to the primary account.
• 201 orders: We'll send a second email to the primary account holder's email address. We'll also display a banner on various pages when logged in to the primary account.
TIP: The 200 order threshold includes every transaction processed in your Eventbrite account. This includes eblink{refunded orders=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=3399}.
The information we collect appears on a Form W-8 (e.g., eblink{W-8BEN=>https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw8ben.pdf target=_blank}, eblink{W-8BEN-E=>https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw8bene.pdf target=_blank}, eblink{other=>https://www.irs.gov/uac/about-form-w8 target=_blank}) and should be entered into the eblink{Taxpayer Information=>https://www.eventbrite.com/tax_information} section of your Eventbrite account.
Here are a few tips to get you started:
• Individual/Organization Name: Enter the name of the beneficial owner or include your incorporation/organization name.
• Permanent Residence Address: Enter a physical address.
• Mailing Address: Enter a mailing address.
• Your electronic signature: Type in your full name, which will be your electronic signature.
TIP: If you need to set Eventbrite up as a vendor or simply need it for reference, download our current eblink{Form W-9=>https://cdn.evbstatic.com/s3-s3/static/images/en_US/account/Eventbrite_W9_2019.pdf}.
PRO TIP: When completing the W-8BEN-E you must also define “Type of Entity” for your organization.
NOTE: Eventbrite can only collect taxpayer information from one party. If you're collecting funds for a third party or multiple organizers, please contact your tax advisor for advice on how to complete your Form W-8 (e.g., W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E, other).
Taxpayer Information is only available to the primary account holder. A sub-user will not be able to complete the Form W-8 (e.g., W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E, other) from within their account.
After eblink{logging in=>https://www.eventbrite.com/login} to your account, Taxpayer information is submitted through a secure digital form on the eblink{Account Settings=>https://www.eventbrite.com/account} page. Go to "Organizer", select eblink{Taxpayer Information=>https://www.eventbrite.com/tax_information}, and choose "Fill out your Taxpayer Information" to get started.
Only fields marked with an asterisk are required. Once you've completed the form, you'll receive an email confirmation from Eventbrite.
TIP: If you previously provided a valid Form W-8 (e.g., W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E, other), we won't ask you to fill out another one. If the information has changed, you can update it by selecting "Update Information". When making changes, you’ll need to complete the entire Form W-8 (e.g., W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E, other).
PRO TIP: If you're providing taxpayer information for a non-U.S. business entity, fill out the W-8BEN-E by selecting "I represent a business that is not in the U.S.".
