How to set up a Star printer and print tickets with Eventbrite Organizer

Star printers are available through eblink{our retail partner=>http://www.cdw.com/shop/custompages/Default.aspx?CustomPageKey=0B9577C178334CBA9FA87F323513DB03} and are great for printing tickets onsite. First, connect the Star printer to a router using an ethernet cable. Next, connect your mobile device to the Wi-Fi network (supported by the router) and open Eventbrite Organizer, our box office iOS and Android app. Then choose your event, tap Settings and turn on "Printing" to complete the setup!

Set up a Star printer

1. Turn on the printer.

After connecting the power chord to your Star printer, turn the power switch to the "on" position. You'll see the green light next to "Ready" start flashing.

2. Connect the printer to a router.

Using an Ethernet cable, connect your printer to a router. The printer must be connected via an Ethernet cable to the router, or else it won't be detected by the device.

3. Connect your mobile device to the Wi-Fi network.

Go to Settings on your mobile device, select "Wi-Fi", and locate the network created by your router. Tap to select and connect to the Wi-Fi network.

Test a Star printer

You'll need to do this for each device you'd like to have access to the Star printer.

1. Open Eventbrite Organizer and choose your event.

Then tap your event from the "Select Event" (Home) screen.

2. Go to Settings.

From your Dashboard, tap on the Settings.

3. Select "Printing".

General is the right tab at the top of the screen. Printing is the fourth option below General. Tap to enable/disable a printer connection for the app on the device.

With "General" selected, tap Printing.

PRO TIP: You'll notice other options like, "Collect Attendee Information" and "Name Device" on the "General" Settings screen. Be sure to return to Settings after you've completed the setup and testing of your Star printer to further customize the function of the app on the specific device for use.

4. Connect the mobile device to the Star printer.

The Printing toggle is the first option on the page. A list of available printers will show below the toggle. Select the Star printer connected to your router.

Tap to enable printing. When your device discovers available printers, the Star printer you connected to your router should appear. Tap to select it.

5. Print a test ticket.

Test Printer will appear on the screen when the device and app are connected to the Star printer. Tap to print a standard test ticket and verify the connection.

When connected to the Star printer, be sure to print a test ticket. Locate and select "Test Printer" to print a standard test ticket and verify that the app (and device) are correctly configured for use.

PRO TIP: Enabling the options "Print tickets" and "Print receipts" will make sure a ticket and receipt is automatically printed for every eblink{transaction=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=5782} completed using the device.

Print tickets for attendees

1. From your event's dashboard in Eventbrite Organizer, go to Orders.

2. Find the attendee's order.

Orders is the left tab at the top of the screen. The search bar is the first option below General (and appears above individual orders). Tap to enable and search.

With "Orders" selected, eblink{search=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=6006} by the attendee's last name, email address, order number, or last four digits of the card they paid with to find their order.

TIP: You can also scan barcodes to quickly look up an attendee's order. Just tap the "Scan" icon next to the search bar.

PRO TIP: To eblink{check in attendees=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=5872}, scroll to "Tickets - Swipe to check in" and slide your finger to the right on the attendee's name.

NOTE: If you need to eblink{refund orders=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=5784} or eblink{resend order confirmations=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=5871}, you can do that from the Order Details screen also.

3. Select Print.

From the "Order Details" screen, tap the Print icon to access the print options.

NOTE: If the icon is greyed out, this means your device and app are not connected to a printer. 4. Tap "Print".

You can print tickets for all attendees or a specific attendee on the order (if more than one ticket was purchased during the same transaction). Just tap "Print" to print a physical ticket using the Star printer.

PRO TIP: When printing tickets, you can pause to interrupt, resume to pick up where you left off, or quit to end the process.

NOTE: The receipt will not print automatically; select to print receipts along with tickets.
