Can attendees pay after the event?

Attendees can’t place orders through a completed event, but there are other options for allowing them to pay. You can eblink{manually add attendees=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=3223} to your event and collect payment directly or eblink{copy=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=3268} the completed event and have the attendees register through the new event listing.

NOTE: The same applies to free events that have ended — you can manually add attendees or copy the event and have attendees register through the new event.

Manually process the order

1. Go to your Manage page.

Event creators can log into their Eventbrite account eblink{here=>https://www.eventbrite.com/myevents target=_blank}. Then select your event.

2. Manually add your attendees.

On your Manage page, select Add Attendees in the Manage Attendees section. Then eblink{manually add your attendees=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=3223} to the event.

3. Collect payment.

Collect payment from attendees in the agreed-upon method you set when adding them to your event.

PRO TIP: When manually adding attendees for free tickets, organizers usually set the Payment Type to “No payment necessary”.

Use a new event listing to accept registrations

1. Copy your completed event.

Event creators can log into their Eventbrite account eblink{here=>https://www.eventbrite.com/myevents target=_blank}. Then select your event. Then select the eblink{“Copy”=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=3268} link on the Event Dashboard.

2. Edit the date and time on your new event.

Edit the date and time on your event’s Edit page to ensure that your attendees can pay.

PRO TIP: Once the last attendee pays, make sure your event is set to end as soon as possible. We’ll send your payout 5 days after the event ends — if the fifth day falls on a weekend or holiday, payout is sent the next business day. eblink{Learn more about payout schedules=>https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articleredirect?anum=27441}

3. Update the ticket sales start/end date and time.

Go to Step 2: Create Tickets and find the ticket type(s) you want to make available. Click the gear icon (under Actions). Update the “Ticket sales start” and "Ticket sales end" options so attendees can register.

PRO TIP: Setting the Sales Channel to “Everywhere” means you can also process sales using our eblink{Eventbrite Organizer app=>https://www.eventbrite.com/l/Organizer-check-in-app} (available for iOS and Android).

NOTE: Make sure to set a sales-end date that gives attendees sufficient time to register and pay.

4. Make your event "Private".

Go to Step 3: Additional Settings and choose "Private page".

NOTE: Private events aren't listed in the Eventbrite public events directory, major search engines like Google, or with distribution partners. However, anyone can reach a private event listing using the link (URL).

5. Publish your event.

Click "Save" to confirm your changes and “Preview” the event to make sure everything is working. Then click "Publish" to publish your event.

TIP: The shareable link for your event listing appears at the bottom of the Manage page.
