Change an attendee's ticket type, event, or seat

You can change an attendee's ticket type, event, or seat. Make sure your event uses Eventbrite Payment Processing, the attendee paid with a debit or credit card, and you have enough funds in your event. To get started, go to Manage Orders (under Manage attendees), find the attendee whose registration you want to change, and choose Change ticket in the Actions drop down.

  • 4. Find the order.

  • 5. Choose the attendee whose registration you want to change and select “Change ticket”.

  • 6. Select the new ticket type, event, or seat.

  • 7. Delete any ticketing fees or price differences and select “Save and continue”.

  • 8. Check the registration information to make sure it is correct.

  • 9. Select "Save and continue."

1. Check this before you start.

To change an attendee's ticket, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Your event uses Eventbrite Payment Processing and the attendee paid for the order online with a credit or debit card.

  • You have enough funds in your remaining payout. Select Add funds on the Event Dashboard if you were already paid out. Learn more about adding funds to your event.

  • The new event isn't sold out.

  • Check the ticket settings on the ticket type you’re changing to. The minimum tickets per order must be set to 1.

  • The order isn't checked in.

  • Your event isn't password-protected.

TIP: If you want to give attendees the ability to change their own tickets, set up self-service ticket changes. Self-service ticket changes are not available for reserved seating events.

2. Go to your Event Dashboard.

Log in to your Eventbrite account and go to Events . Then select your event.

3. Go to "Manage Orders" (under Manage Attendees).

4. Find the order.

Scroll down until you find the attendee’s order. If you have a lot of orders, use the search field to find the order faster. You can search by order number, name, or email address.

5. Choose the attendee whose registration you want to change and select “Change ticket”.

Select the Actions dropdown menu next to the attendee's info. Then select Change ticket.

6. Select the new ticket type, event, or seat.

Follow the steps below.

If you are changing to a new ticket type or seat on the same event:

  1. Choose Change ticket type.

  2. Select the new ticket type.

  3. For reserved seating events, use the “Seating” option to pick a seat.

  4. Select Save and continue.

If you are changing to a new event:

  1. Choose Change event.

  2. Select the new event.

  3. Select Continue.

  4. Select the new ticket type.

  5. For reserved seating events, use the “Seating” option to pick a seat.

  6. Select Save and continue.

7. Delete any ticketing fees or price differences and select “Save and continue”.

Delete any charges or ticketing fees on this page before moving on. If you'd like to have attendees pay the difference, turn on self-service ticket changes.

TIP: If you changed the attendee to a lower-priced ticket, you can issue a refund for the difference.

8. Check the registration information to make sure it is correct.

9. Select "Save and continue."

Attendees can access their new ticket by logging in on the Eventbrite website or mobile app using the email address associated with their order.
