November 7th, 2008: San Francisco, CA - Eventbrite, the leading provider of event registration services to the business community, and LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network, today announced a partnership whereby Eventbrite will provide business event listings to LinkedIn's recently launched events product, LinkedIn Events
The partnership with Eventbrite will give LinkedIn users access to thousands of business conferences, seminars, classes, and training events published on the Eventbrite system. LinkedIn Events will use proprietary technology to match relevant events to LinkedIn users, based on their profile information, industry, and preferences.
"LinkedIn has captured the worldwide audience of business professionals with their compelling service," said Kevin Hartz, CEO of Eventbrite. "We are very pleased to now be able to distribute our vast directory of business events to this valuable audience."
"We are delighted to have Eventbrite support us in delivering relevant information about professional events," said Scott Roberts, Senior Director of Business Development at LinkedIn. "The LinkedIn Events product offers its users the ability to find events that meet and support their professional interests."
For Eventbrite event organizers, the new partnership means the ability to reach prospective attendees among LinkedIn's 27 million members, spanning 150 countries and 170 industries. LinkedIn will use the rich information it has for each of its users to intelligently recommend events that are likely to be of interest to them. Users will also be able to see which events are of interest to people in their personal networks.
