San Francisco, CA - February 21, 2012 - Eventbrite will be the exclusive ticketing provider for the second year of The Governors Ball Music Festival on June 23 and 24, 2012 in New York City. This two-day, two-stage festival on Randall's Island will feature headliners Beck, Passion Pit, Modest Mouse, Duck Sauce, Explosions in the Sky, Chromeo, Devendra Banhart, Santigold, Built to Spill, and many more.
As part of Eventbrite's focus on ticketing and supporting music festivals, the company has built a Field Operations team that will be especially valuable for a large, multi-day concert like The Governors Ball. The Eventbrite team will be designing and implementing an on-site access and sales plan in order to create a seamless experience for fans arriving to the festival from multiple entry points. One of the primary features of the on-site plan will be using Eventbrite's iPad application, At The Door, to manage on-site sales.
"One of the most important considerations for us is working with a partner who can provide entry management and box office operations that ensure a seamless experience for the fans," explains Tom Russell, Partner at Founders Entertainment. "Eventbrite's Account Management and Field Operations teams represent decades of combined experience—and the staff has worked just about every notable festival in the country. Combine that with innovative products like At The Door, and it was obvious this was a relationship we could really see working long term."
Founders Entertainment is also planning on leveraging Eventbrite's integrated sharing tools that will make it easy for fans to share information about The Governors Ball across all of their social media networks. In a 2011 Social Commerce Report, Eventbrite found that when customers share information about a concert through social media channels built into their ticketing tools, it drives on average an additional $12 in ticket sales per share. Festival organizers realize that the most meaningful promotion for bands can come directly from their fans, which is why Eventbrite has focused on bringing true social commerce to the music industry.
Eventbrite enables people all over the world to plan, promote, and sell out any event. And Eventbrite makes it easy for everyone to discover events, and to share the events they are attending with the people they know. In this way, Eventbrite brings communities together by encouraging people to connect through live experiences. Eventbrite's investors include Tiger Global, Sequoia Capital, DAG Ventures, and Tenaya Capital. Learn more at www.eventbrite.com.
