YWCA Monterey County

Founded in 1868, the YWCA is among the largest women’s organizations in the US, serving over 2 million women and girls annually. The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all and operates in 1,300 locations in 50 states. The Monterey County Association was founded in 1972, providing the resources needed for survivors of domestic violence to leave abusive relationships, establish healthy personal boundaries, and build supportive networks. The YWCA is the only agency offering domestic violence intervention, education, and prevention services holistically at once in Monterey County. In addition, YWCA-MC now offers extended services to victims of Human Trafficking, with the only confidentially-located shelter on the Central Coast!
