Youth Representatives of the National Council of Women of the US

The National Council of Women of the US is the oldest nonpartisan, nonsectarian, voluntary women's organization in the US. Established in 1888. It retains 501(c)3 charity, nonprofit status and is in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and the UN Department of Public Information.  The Council, in partnership with its affiliates,

  • Serves as a host to hundreds of women from all over the world, introducing them to the United Nations as an organized body of 192 nations with many Commissions, Conventions, and Treaties that impact women and children here and across the globe.
  • Monitors the United Nations and reports on current issues and activities.
  • Evaluates public issues to formulate a policy that establishes a framework for Council action.
  • Develops, implements and presents public interest seminars and workshops.
  • Publicizes the diverse concerns of women and men to promote new membership and support.

  Its mission is to address the diverse concerns of women in pursuit of social, economic and political equaltiy while serving as a united voice and forum to promote progressive ideas and influence policy decisions that affect human rights.
