My passion for fitness started with competitive swimming during my childhood in Mexico. I learned to have a healthy discipline from training which made me stronger in mind and body. The training paid off as I was lucky enough to compete at State and National Championships winning silver and gold many times over the years. After competitive swimming I decided to find a new challenge, that is when I found Dance. And now that I think about it... my whole life I have been dancing to different tunes and formats. When Spinning/Cycling studios started opening doors in Mexico city I fell in love with it!. Choreographing Spin drills with the music hits of the day became my passion after completing my Reebok cycling certification. I Loved teaching my Spin classes all around Mexico City and after all these years, I still love to teach spinning. Life takes you ways you never even imagine…and in 2003 I found myself in Canada on holiday for a few weeks and have never left!The following decade was all about family. I became the mother of three sweet girls. Between all of the wonderful and busy delights of motherhood I found myself missing teaching Spin classes, and then decided to look into becoming a certified instructor here in Canada. I was lucky to receive amazing training at Heavens Elevated Fitness. That is where I completed my AFLCA Theory and Group Exercise with specialty on Cycling and Group Exercise Leader and Portable Equipment designation. I started teaching Spin and Strength training classes in downtown corporate gyms and around the city in fitness clubs, recreation centres, schools and studios. As well as my AFLCA training I have completed certifications on Zumba, Zumba Kids ® and Zumba Kids Jr.®, Zumba Pro Skills, Zumba Glutes, TRX Group Suspension Training, Muscles in Motion, Schwin Cycle and Total Body Barre training and recently Booty Barre Certification. Last year I decided it was time for me to follow my call for Yoga. In January of this year I enrolled in a 250 hour teacher training for (my personal favourite) Traditional Yoga Iyengar Style. I am loving every minute of it! All of my training and years of experience have shaped the instructor I have become. I believe Fitness it not only relies in having strong muscles. It goes far beyond that. It's a mindset. A connection of thought, body and energy. It is a lifelong journey of respecting and nurturing your body in a spiritual and kind way which will bring you confidence, health and inner peace. I have found that the fitness journey never ends, and the more I do, the more I learn about our beautiful bodies, minds and spirit, the more there is to learn. I hope we can enjoy this journey together!
