Wishes of Literacy was formed in 2010 by Wendy Ramos to help children with
Dyslexia and Learning Disabilities.
Mrs. Ramos started the organization after her son, Luis, was diagnosed with Dyslexia and Auditory Processing Disorder. She found very few resources or people who could help and knew there had to be other parents and children going through the same thing, so, she decided to make a difference.
Since then we have opened our Learning Center for Dyslexic and Struggling Learners.Where we offer Evaluations, Advocacy, One to One Orton-Gillingham Tutoring, Orton-Gillingham Training, Professional Development, Workshops and More!
Our mission, through our free workshops, professional development and advocacy, is to raise awareness of Dyslexia and Learning Disabilities and to promote understanding, acceptance and services in our schools and
WISHES OF LITERACY'S MISSION IS THREEFOLD:
TO RAISE AWARENESS OF DYSLEXIA AND LEARNING DIFFERENCES.
TO EDUCATE PARENTS AND PROFESSIONALS ON DYSLEXIA AND LEARNING DIFFERENCES THROUGH WORKSHOPS, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT.
TO HELP THE CHILDREN BY BRINGING KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING, SERVICES AND PROGRAMS IN OUR SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES.
