WHOI and the WHFF

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) and the Woods Hole Film Festival co-host community screenings of films.

WHOI is a private, non-profit organization on Cape Cod, Mass., dedicated to marine research, engineering, and higher education. Established in 1930 on a recommendation from the National Academy of Sciences, its primary mission is to understand the oceans and their interaction with the Earth as a whole, and to communicate a basic understanding of the oceans' role in the changing global environment.

The Woods Hole Film Festival was established in 1992 and is focused on highlighting the work of independent filmmakers, especially those based in New England. It features an annual summer film festival, and a number of other film series throughout the year including Dinner & a Movie, Film Falmouth, and Best of the Fest screenings.
