Where Are The Dreamers

When the Tennessee Mountain Man was a young man, there have been dream women. Girls like Raquel Welch, Liz Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Diana Ross, Nancy Sinatra, Tina Turner and the Vargas girls. Man, we also thought Annie Oakley, Dale Evans, Miss Kitty, Della Street, and the lady next door were hot... probably a hor-mone point.

But, there have been also dreamers. Dreamers like John Kennedy who had a desire that challenged and inspi-red a new generation. Dreamers like Martin Luther King, Jr. who had a dream that changed a country. Bobby Kennedy had a dream. The Gipper had a dream.

Then there were the desire makers... dream producers like school teachers who challenged you to become all you could possibly be, professionals like attorneys and health practitioners who practiced their skills primarily since they cared for their fellow man generally for a pound of butter, twelve fresh farm eggs, a chicken for the dinner table, or perhaps a gallon of fresh churned buttermilk, and there have been men of God who spread the Gospel from love for something besides numbers, pride and money. If you are concerned by video, you will certainly want to explore about cheap pastor lee mcfarland. There were neighborhood leaders who inspired and they interacted with their citizens and really got out on the street.

The poet Langston Hughes:

'Hold fast to dreams

For if dreams die

Life is really a bird

That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams

For when dreams go

Life is really a barren field

Frozen with snow.'

Where will be the Doctor Kildare's that dare challenge anyone to a noble company bigger than themselves rather than seeking self aggrandizement?

Where's America's future? Where are all the dream impressive TELEVISION shows and actual street trips like Route 66? Where are real cars that people may fall deeply in love with? Where are the road side stands where a child's imagination could be driven for hours without something being stolen or broken?

Where have most of the dreamers gone? Where have the dream makers gone? Why are those that started with only a dream now placing comfortably within their million-dollar homes sipping brandy in the morning and ensconced in their ivory towers by day while dreamers vanish from the landscape? Who do they think will stimulate a new era to desire, to challenge if they do not? What we've been given, what we've accomplished comes with a value which can not be abdicated. The dream, the inspiration should be passed to a new generation. They need to strive for a fresh frontier.

Oh, community satisfaction, community love, community treatment, 4-H Clubs, Boy Scouts, FFA, college plays and cake walks where art thou? The Computerman do not see his grandchildren seeking any of these issues or dreaming about what may be. We have perhaps not appeared by a long shot. Can it add something useful to God's earth or be self absorbed or be couch potatoes having fun with the latest gadget?

Does your pastor inspire the young people, or is he or she only there to count heads and collect dollars? If it is not the former, it's time for a new pastor. Should you choose to identify new resources on lee mcfarland, there are tons of on-line databases you might think about investigating. Do the teachers in your schools motivate and stimulate students? Or even, send them packing. Their grossly prolonged vacation schedule and limited hours be damned. Let them do that for which they're best suited like slinging burgers in the Golden Arches in place of holding back our prodigy. Do social and political leaders lead? Or even, replace them, and the earlier the better for your next-generation of dreamers.

How come hanging in the engine so popular today? Why are gangs and gang bangers so prevalent? Why can't our children dream beyond their current conditions? We did! We wanted to be Wyatt Earp (at the least the TELEVISION picture), Matt Dillon, The Lawman, Perry Mason, Dr Marcus Welby, M.D., Paladin, Pat Garrett or possibly even the Reverend Billy Graham or another Reverend Dr Martin Luther King or a Sister Theresa or maybe Elvis or Ricky Nelson and we enjoyed seeing Lassie while wolfing down a large plate of pop corn or house parched peanuts while we imagined.

We had to desire before we achieved, before we acted. Before we'd the answers there were the goals. There was a desire, then there was Rosa Parks. There was a desire, then there was John Glenn!

We dreamed... we imagined being... we dreamed of becoming... we dreamed of serving... we dreamed of living... we imagined loving... we wanted giving... We dreamed.

Inside the theater of our thoughts we slipped the surly bonds of earth and dared think the possibilities that lay before us.

What happened? Where have all of the dreamers gone? Are today's sick, addicted, anorexic place stars tomorrows potential? Where are the dream makers? Who will catch the imagination and push it forward through the unknown and through the haze of uncertainty right into a happier tomorrow? Who? Where would be the dream makers?! Where are the dreamers?!.
