Wendy Camilla Blackwell

Wendy Camilla Blackwell  is influenced by traditional quilting styles but loves to provoke the tension between old and new. The West Baltimore native believes that art is everywhere and apart of everything, so she uses it to expose her favorite muses, African masks, and jazz. UnMasked combines her love of pointillism with rhythms of struggle, spiritually, disharmony and reveals her hopes for the future. A storyteller at heart, she uses both needle and paint to transmute the sadness of struggle into triumphant stories in color, on fabric, leather, and furniture. From general station master to teacher to museum educator, and practitioner, Wendy is looking forward to the next artful adventure.
