The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is comprised of 23 men’s and women’s varsity sports and competes at the NCAA Division I level (football bowl subdivision FBS). The land-grant university located in the capital city of Madison, was founded in 1848. It is a charter member of the Big Ten Conference and has an annual enrollment of over 42,000 undergraduate and graduate students. In 2015, the university was ranked the No. 1 College Football Town in America, and the 11th best public university in the U.S..
