USIP and ITVS

The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) is an independent nonpartisan national institution established and funded by Congress. Our mission is to help prevent, manage, and resolve violent international conflicts by empowering others with knowledge, skills, and resources, as well as by directly engaging in peacebuilding efforts around the world. The Center of Innovation for Media, Conflict, and Peacebuilding focuses on harnessing the power of the media for peacebuilding, and on developing new strategies for countering the use of media to promote conflict. For more information please visit http://www.usip.org/programs/centers/media-conflict-and-peacebuilding

The Independent Television Service (ITVS) funds, presents, and promotes award-winning documentaries and dramas on public television and cable, innovative new media projects on the Web, and the Emmy Award-winning weekly series Independent Lens Tuesday nights at 10:00 PM on PBS. ITVS International is a division of the Independent Television Service that runs the Global Perspectives Project (GPP), an international exchange of documentary films made by independent producers, bringing international voices to U.S. audiences and American stories to audiences abroad. ITVS is funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, a private corporation funded by the American people. The GPP is funded by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Ford Foundation, and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. For more information please visit http://itvs.org.
